A VERY SPECIAL GREETING reached me today from Uganda 💝
This is my friend Nayiga. She lives in the slums and survives by collecting and selling plastic bottles.
I have visited her home (seen in photos). She lives in very bad conditions, but I am so thankful to see she smiles now and has some joy in her life.
The photo (shared) of her was taken recently. She asked it be sent to me with her greetings.
While the photo was taken Nayiga began to share her heart. She said: she could not believe I came to visit her. More: I was the first white person to ever visit her or this slum area. She was really surprised that I would touch her or spend time with her.
I remember fondly sitting by her little fire while she cooked a small pot of food (photo with small metal plate over pot between the blocks) for her and her grandchildren. She got worried because the smoke kept swirling around and would blow in my face. She put the fire out before I could stop her. This interrupted the preparation of their food, but she said it was alright. We had a wonderful visit and I cannot forget how much I instantly loved her.
Nayiga has blessed me today with her her love and greetings. I am truly blessed to know her.
She has also reminded me of God's great love for all people, and his special care and concern for people (like Nayiga) who live in very difficult situations.
Please pray for Nayiga and that our work will be a life changing blessing to many. The need is great, but God is greater. 🙌🙏
